Just a simple little hint for cat owners when trying to groom cats.
Whenever I groom my own cat, I like to take her to a place within the house where she feels comfortable, so that she feels comfortable being groomed. I have to admit, she isn't the happiest cat in the world about being brushed, etc, so a place that the cat is familiar with is great. Even better is with no distractions, so that he/she can relax in peace, and hopefully enjoy the quiet time.
I also think it is a good idea to home groom the cat. If it was me, I don't know how comfortable I would be if I was being brushed, etc by a stranger!! Since your cat hopefully trusts you and knows you better than a proffessional, they will feel better about it, and start to look forward to the time.
